New opportunities for Foreign Trade

According to the official news agency CGTN in Spanish, Chinese lawmakers have approved a revised Foreign Trade Law, which will take effect on March 1, 2026. The revised Foreign Trade Law was passed at a session of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The law aims to boost China’s development as a trading power and promote high-quality foreign trade. It advocates for the establishment of a fair international economic order and greater support for international trade platforms.

The tariff policies and constant blackmail perpetrated by the US government and the social media networks at its service highlight the need for a more open trade policy. The publication of the US National Security Policy has revealed the main lines of the subservience it intends to impose. In response to this policy, the European Commission is developing collaborative strategies with Latin America, Asia, and, to a lesser extent, Africa. The entry into force of the Foreign Trade Law by the Chinese government presents an opportunity to be seized for the multidirectional promotion of a policy that the Spanish government has been supporting in recent years.
