8th World Robot Conference
The largest event in Robotics is ending. It has included more than 50 new products, making their debut at this year’s expo, marking the highest number of new releases in the history of the event.
The 8th World Robot Conference 2023 opened in Beijing on Aug 16 and will run until Aug 22 at the Beijing Etrong International Exhibition and Convention Center.

Recent events on AI in China
Along the World International Congress on Intelligence (Tianjin, May 17-20) experts arising from academic and industrial environements have discussed about recent achievements and challenges of Artificial Intelligence and their applications as motor of sustainable economy. IST and Industrial Internet 5G+ provided a framework for a lot of hot applied research topics. Some of the most outstanding are related to recent AI advances for automatic navigation, brain-computer interaction and generative AI.
More recently, the 6th Shanghai World AI Conference (WAIC) hold along July 6th-8th has been focused towards «Intelligent Connectivity generating future». More than 400 stands have been focused towards intelligent terminals and cutting edge technologies, between others. This meeting has become a world benchmark for cooperation and the exchange of information on AI and its applications, promoting the development of the academic and industrial sector of the region.
According to the official CGTN news agency, the Chinese government published measures on July 13 to boost the generative AI industry by ensuring security. The new regulation will enter into force on August 15. A great opportunity for the international collaboration in some of the most challenging knowledge areas. International Trade and common sense
InvestmentsThe war in Ukraine and the subservience of EU policy to US interests has led to a contraction of trade relations that hurts us all. The trade balance of the EU with China is over 900 billion Euros. Increasing constraints linked to trade war would ruin the EU in benefit of the USA. The opportunity cost is enormous. It is time to recover common sense, defend EU interests, and try to deactivate embargoes and restrictions which only benefit the USA foreign policy. An illustrative example: Hungary has more than doubled its production in the automobile sector with externalized German industry, and threatens to unseat Spain from second place in a strategic sector. Spain can play a much more active role as a bridge between several regions of the world.

The growth rate of Chinese economy along the first three monts is 4%. One of the most relevant areas of cultural policy of the Chinese government for the next years is focused to improve the knowledge of Chinese culture in a broad sense, including art, historical cities and landscapes. China is one of countries with largest amount of World Cultural Heritage. Furthermore these impressionant sites, there are a lot of smaller CH sites with a charm which is being acknowledged by an increasing amount of people wishing a better knowledge of the very rich Chinese history and culture. Spain has a very large experience in the management of cultural tourism. An exchange of knowledge and experiences could be very useful for both countries. About restrictions of Intl Trade
Domestic consumption of microchips in China has almost the 50% of the worñd production. Constraints imposed by the US have no sense. The largest customer of the Netherlands for litogtaphy is China. The largest market for Taiwan and South Korea is again China. When, some of largest US firms assemble their products in China, the US policy is mainly addressed as a pressure for EU countries, for lowering their dependence with respect to the Chinese industry. The subordination of EU to the strategic interests of the USA is the path to an increasing irrelevance of the EU. In a mutually interconnected world where China has the first place in most technological areas (37 of 44) it is not a smart policy promote an impossible and unrealsitic isolation. The EU must have its own policy focused towards mutual collaboration.
